See which former Iowa State football players shined in Week 15 of NFL

Week 15 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, and several former Iowa State football players had huge hands in their teams’ performances.

The collection of ex-Cyclones in the NFL continues to grow, with several more added to rosters this season after having around a dozen consistently active last season. While the star-studded names like Brock Purdy and David Montgomery continue to stand out week after week, several others Iowa State fans will recognize are making significant impacts at the pro level too.

With that, here are a few ex-Cyclones who stood out in Week 15 of the NFL season.

Breece Hall, New York Jets RB

The New York Jets won for just the second time since Week 3 with Sunday’s 32-25 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hall found the end zone to help the cause.

The former Iowa State running back finished with nine carries for 30 yards and two catches for 21 yards. Hall’s end zone visit was most pivotal, coming on a 1-yard TD rush with 1:05 remaining that ultimately sealed the Jets’ win. Hall is up over 1,100 scrimmage yards on the year.

Will McDonald IV, New York Jets DE

After not cracking the stat sheet in last week’s overtime loss to the Miami Dolphins, McDonald finished with two tackles in the Jets’ win over Jacksonville.

On the season, the former Iowa State defensive standout has 23 tackles and 10 sacks through 14 games.

Xavier Hutchinson, Houston Texans WR

Hutchinson finished with one catch for 13 yards in the Houston Texans’ 20-12 win over the Miami Dolphins. It marked his first catch since Nov. 10 against the Detroit Lions.

The former Iowa State wide receiver did make his catch count. Hutchinson’s lone grab came with Houston backed up on second-and-15 midway through the fourth quarter, which then allowed the Texans to convert a third-and-short to keep the clock moving. On the season, Hutchinson has eight catches for 83 yards on 19 targets.
